BOWLING GREEN — This is what we have been waiting for.
For the first time in Mid-American Conference play this season, Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team played like it was projected to finish second in the conference.
That is because it was. On Wednesday evening, they looked the part.
The Falcons played, unarguably, its best game of the season against the current second-best team in the MAC, getting back over .500 in the league with a 67-51 victory over Western Michigan inside the Stroh Center.
The Falcons played an intense and fluid first half of basketball, and Elissa Brett and Amy Velasco provided enough energy to power the adjacent Doyt Perry Stadium.
