TEMPE, Ariz. — Marcus Johnson scored 23 points, Javontae Campbell hit a go-ahead free throw with 12 seconds remaining, and Derrick Butler secured the victory with a block in the closing seconds as Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team knocked off New Mexico State 61-60 on Saturday in the Desert Division consolation game of the Arizona Tip-Off.
Falcons head coach Todd Simon picked up his 150th career victory as a college head coach.
Johnson had five rebounds and three steals for the Falcons (3-5). Butler scored 15 points while going 4 of 15 from the floor, including 2 for 7 from 3-point range, and 5 for 5 from the line and added five rebounds.
