BOWLING GREEN — When Nathan Burke transferred from Minnesota to Bowling Green State University prior to this season, he was looking for a fresh start and a place to showcase his hockey talent.
He found that — and then some.
He was given a piece of validation this month with a nomination for the Hobey Baker Award, which is given annually to the best player in men’s college ice hockey. He is one of 77 players to earn a national nomination.
“I’m honestly speechless about it,” Burke said. “Just from where I was in the past, to come here and be given an opportunity to play, obviously I think when you play college hockey, that’s the goal.
