BOWLING GREEN — Signs of life from the power play and excellent goaltending proved to be the cure to Bowling Green’s Friday Night Blues.
The No. 9 Falcons, who had lost three straight series-opening games, earned a much-needed 2-0 victory Friday against Ferris State at Slater Family Ice Arena.
Eric Dop earned his second straight shutout by stopping 22 shots, while Bowling Green’s power play accounted for all of the scoring in the game.
The win allowed Bowling Green to keep pace with league-leading Minnesota State in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association standings. The No. 7 Mavericks defeated Northern Michigan 3-2 on Friday.
