MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. — Bowling Green State University’s hockey team topped St. Thomas 4-3 in a shootout on Friday, splitting a Central Collegiate Hockey Association series on the road.
The Falcons (14-13-1, 11-8-1 CCHA) netted their final two shootout attempts in the three-player competition, with Falcons’ goaltender Christian Stoever turning back Josh Eernisse’s attempt to secure the victory.
Chase Gresock and Taylor Schneider converted their shootout attempts for BG, while Jake Braccini made his attempt for St. Thomas.
Nathan Burke scored twice in the first period for Bowling Green, giving him 13 goals on the season and handing the Falcons a 2-0 lead.
