BOWLING GREEN — Six different Bowling Green skaters netted a goal Saturday, and the Falcons' torrid start to the season is up to 14 wins in 16 games.
The eighth-ranked Falcons swept the two-game set with Northern Michigan with a 6-2 victory at Slater Family Ice Arena, a victory that also served as the 1,000th win in program history.
Bowling Green outscored NMU 11-3 in the two games, never trailed in either game, and compiled six first-period goals in the series to improve to 5-1 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
The Falcons became just the third college program founded after World War II to reach the four-digit milestone, and by virtue of the sweep, BG assured it did so on home ice.
