Bowling Green hockey loses at Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Bowling Green State University surrendered a goal with just 78 seconds to play in a 3-2 loss to Alabama Huntsville in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association contest played at the Von Braun Center Friday.

No. 15 Bowling Green (19-10-6, 16-6-5-2 WCHA) will finish third in the league standings following the loss.

Alabama Huntsville (11-20-2, 10-15-2-1 WCHA) got a third-period goal by Austin Beaulieu to clinch a league playoff berth for the first time since 2015.

After a scoreless first period, the Chargers scored first when Max McHugh found the back of the net at 3:21 of the second period.
