BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Bowling Green State University hockey team clawed back to tie the game in the third period of a decisive Game 3 of a first-round CCHA Mason Cup series against Bemidji State on Sunday, but two unanswered goals gave the Beavers a 3-1 victory and a spot in the conference semifinals.
No. 6 seed Bowling Green opened the best-of-3 series with a 2-1 win on Friday, but fell 4-2 to No. 3 seed Bemidji State on Saturday to set up Sunday’s deciding game.
Bemidji State opened the scoring on Sunday in the second period with a goal from Ethan Somoza on assists from Eric Martin and Owen Sillinger.
