BOWLING GREEN — After eight years away, Bowling Green in 2021 returned to its old hockey home — the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.
The Falcons, however, struggled to find their footing at times in the reformed league. Bowling Green slumped to 11-14-1 in conference play, its first sub-.500 league record since 2013. It went 15-19-3 overall, incurring its most losses since that same season, and dropped its best-of-three CCHA quarterfinal series to Bemidji State in three games.
This year, coach Ty Eigner’s team is expected to improve, a sentiment that was confirmed when the league’s coaches voted the Falcons third in the preseason poll.
