KALAMAZOO — Western Michigan’s men’s hockey team scored two late third-period goals to squash any hopes of a Bowling Green rally as the Falcons fell 4-1 to the No. 18-ranked Broncos on Thursday night at Lawson Ice Arena.
Austen Swankler scored the only goal for Bowling Green, which fell to 2-3 overall.
He put the Falcons on the board with 17:53 left in the second period, trimming WMU’s lead to 2-1. Brayden Krieger and Chase Gresock assisted on the play.
Western Michigan’s Max Sasson and Ryan McAllister put the game away with goals at the 7:30 and 5:27 marks, respectively, in the third period.
