BOWLING GREEN —Taylor Schneider scored with the goalie pulled as Bowling Green State University forced overtime in dramatic fashion, but the Falcons fell 4-3 to Ferris State in overtime in Game 1 of the CCHA Mason Cup Quarterfinals on Friday.
Schneider’s goal with an extra attacker came 18:38 into the final period, but Ferris State’s Nick Nardecchia scored the game-winner 14:04 into overtime to give the Bulldogs a leg up in the best-of-three series.
Bowling Green held a 2-0 lead in the first period after goals from Dalton Norris and Austen Swankler.
Ferris State answered with three straight goals from Jacob Badal, Jason Brancheau, and Travis Shoudy.
