BOWLING GREEN — Ty Eigner felt like his team was, at many points, a step away.
Those increments amounted to a stop-and-go effort from his Bowling Green State University team in a 6-3 defeat to Central Collegiate Hockey Association rival Northern Michigan on Friday inside the Slater Family Ice Arena.
The defeat is BGSU’s fifth in six games.
“We were just a step away, it feels like,” Eigner said. “And that might have been the story of the night. We didn’t win enough races, and we weren’t where we needed to be at certain times.”
The Falcons were exactly where they needed to be early in the game.
