BOWLING GREEN — Tuesday was a day for Michael Huger’s bench to step up.
When point guard Kaden Metheny went down with an injury in the first half and missed the entirety of the second half, Bowling Green State University’s head men’s basketball coach needed players to step in, eat up minutes, and contribute to an adjusted rotation against a steaming-hot Oakland team.
The charge was led by Chandler Turner, who nearly doubled his career-high point total, and contributions from Brenton Mills and Isaac Elsasser helped lift Bowling Green to a 73-72 victory over the Golden Grizzlies at the Stroh Center.
