BOWLING GREEN -— Bowling Green will renovate its hockey arena at a cost of $5.75 million beginning in the spring of 2023, the athletic department announced in a Friday morning release.
Slater Family Ice Arena — the Falcons’ hockey home since 1967, and the only home they’ve known as a Division I program — will receive a much-needed internal facelift. A new mezzanine level will be added to the arena’s south end, which will include private suites. The arena’s locker rooms and restrooms will receive upgrades, and a 1,000-square-foot lobby will be added to its west end.
“This is exciting news for Bowling Green State University and Falcon hockey,” Bowling Green coach Ty Eigner said in the release, thanking the university’s administration.
