BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University’s apparent 2022 makeover — a wholesale, veteran-heavy reinvention displayed in victories over Marshall and Akron — was completely reversed Saturday afternoon.
“That was as disappointing a half — as disappointing a game — that I've had in my career,” coach Scot Loeffler said after the Falcons’ 38-7 loss to Buffalo at Doyt Perry Stadium.
The game — Loeffler’s 26th loss in 35 career games — came on the heels of a 31-28 win over Akron during which Bowling Green looked, at times, like it had turned a corner. Against a triumphant Bulls team, the Falcons returned to their old ways.
