BOWLING GREEN — Near the midpoint of its volleyball clash with Toledo Saturday afternoon, Bowling Green handed the Rockets a golden opportunity.
The Falcons rallied from a 24-22 deficit to tie the second set at 24-all but allowed Toledo to knot the match at a set apiece as senior outside hitter Sina Uluave’s ace capped a 30-28 marathon. It was an unsatisfactory end for Bowling Green to a set it had otherwise controlled statistically and appeared briefly to shift momentum to the Rockets.
The hiccup, however, turned out to be little more than a blip on an otherwise definitive 25-18, 28-30, 25-17, 25-15 Falcons win in the volleyball edition of the Battle of I-75.
