Bowling Green State University defensive lineman Karl Brooks was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round of the NFL draft on Saturday afternoon.
Brooks, the No. 179 overall pick, became the first Falcon drafted since 2019 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected wide receiver Scotty Miller. He also was the first defensive player from BGSU chosen since 2013 when the Houston Texans selected tackle Chris Jones.
A 6-foot-4, 300-pound tackle who regularly made his presence felt in opponents’ backfields, Brooks became the seventh Falcon selected in the draft in the last 20 years.
Brooks recently wrapped up a stellar five-year collegiate career in which he finished as one of the top defensive linemen at BGSU.
