KALAMAZOO — Bowling Green State University erased a two-set deficit to force a decider in the championship match of the Mid-American Conference volleyball tournament, but host and No. 1 seed Western Michigan closed out a five-set victory Monday.
The Falcons, who upset third-seeded Ball State on Saturday and second-seeded Buffalo on Sunday, were the first No. 6 seed to reach the conference championship since 2017. A win over the Broncos would have earned BGSU a place in the NCAA tournament, but the Falcons were unable to hand WMU its first conference loss of the season.
