KALAMAZOO — Sophomore Lauryn Hovey had 20 kills and a .571 hitting percentage to help lead the Bowling Green State University volleyball team to a sweep over Buffalo on Sunday to advance to the Mid-American Conference championship match for the fifth consecutive season.
The Falcons defeated the Bulls 25-17, 25-21, 25-21 at the Read Fieldhouse at Western Michigan University.
Senior Jaden Walz had 39 assists for the sixth-seeded Falcons (19-12, 11-7 MAC), while junior Kat Mandly (Perrysburg) had eight kills, and senior Alexis Mattille had six kills.
