BOWLING GREEN — As Bowling Green’s men’s basketball team hopped on an idling bus outside Worthen Arena in Muncie, Ind., the Falcons entered a period of rest having weathered two storms.
First, the Falcons escaped the toughest part of their Mid-American Conference schedule — four road trips around a home date against Toledo — with three wins in five games, good enough to keep the overall lead in the conference through the weekend.
The second was much more unexpected. Guard Dylan Frye, a four-year starter, quit the team Feb. 7, just a week after setting the program’s all-time record for 3-pointers made in a career, changing the make-up of a Bowling Green roster gunning for a league championship.
