BOWLING GREEN — Late last season, the Bowling Green State University football team seemed to make a philosophical switch.
As the calendar flipped from October to November, the Falcons began to favor the running game — and the result was a strong finish by running back Donovan Wilson and the team, which won its final three games.
Wilson ran for at least 100 yards in all three of those games. He finished third on the team in rushing last season with 501 yards on 110 carries; almost three-quarters of his rushing yardage (372 yards total) came during those wins against Akron, Kent State, and Buffalo.
