BOWLING GREEN — Saturday will be the centennial celebration of football at Bowling Green State University, replete with a full itinerary and hall of fame Falcons all the way from the 1959 team to Phil Villapiano to Josh Harris.
But another old friend also will make a return to Doyt Perry Stadium: the quirky, abstract former Bowling Green logo, often referred to as the “LT” Falcon in BG circles.
The logo, which represented the Falcons’ sports team from 1980 to 2006, has been mostly in storage since the introduction of the current primary mark, an interlocking “BG” with a Falcon head that now sits at the 50-yard line and serves as the main decal on the Bowling Green football helmets.
