Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team has made a living on the glass and at the free-throw line this season, especially in Mid-American Conference play.
Toledo, however, shut down the critical aspects of the Falcons’ game on Saturday.
The Rockets, with the help of lights-out shooting and aggressive play, limited the top rebounding team in the MAC to a season-low 25 boards, including just four on the offensive glass. BGSU also attempted just seven free throws — its second-lowest of the season — after making at least 19 in its past four games.
Hindering BGSU’s strengths helped Toledo pull out an 88-72 Mid-American Conference victory at Savage Arena.
