BOWLING GREEN — A personal foul and technical foul by Bowling Green State University’s Erika Porter in the final seconds helped Western Michigan come away with a 63-60 Mid-American Conference women’s basketball victory on Wednesday at the Stroh Center.
With the game tied at 60, BGSU’s Amy Velasco just missed a layup with around 20 seconds left, and Porter — who was dominant in the second half offensively — was called for a foul while going after the rebound. She appeared to be visibly frustrated at a Western Michigan player when she got up, and after the officials reviewed the play, a technical foul on Porter was added.
