AKRON — The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team outscored the host Zips by four points in the fourth quarter to secure a 74-68 Mid-American Conference victory on Wednesday night at Rhodes Arena.
Erika Porter made a layup with 2:07 left in the game to put the Falcons ahead 72-68, and Amy Velasco put the game away with two free throws with nine second lefts. Akron did not score in the game’s final 2:30.
Porter led BGSU (13-11, 7-6 MAC) with 22 points and 16 rebounds, while Velasco scored 18. Morgan Sharps had 15 points, while Paige Kohler scored 10.
