MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Bowling Green State University women’s basketball was in contention for one quarter, but No. 13 West Virginia pulled away to hand the Falcons a 78-47 loss on Tuesday night.
BGSU never led but was tied at 15 with the Mountaineers with less than a minute remaining in the opening quarter. WVU went on a 9-0 run bridging the first and second quarters and outscored the Falcons 19-4 in the second to lead 37-19 at the break.
The Mountaineers were 8 of 15 from the field in the second quarter, while the Falcons were 2 of 12 with nine turnovers.
