BGSU women's basketball can't sustain hot start, falls to Buffalo

BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team went ice cold after a red-hot start as Buffalo picked up a 70-60 Mid-American Conference victory on Wednesday at the Stroh Center.

BGSU fell to 7-7, 1-2 MAC, while Buffalo improved to 13-1, 2-1.

The Falcons made their first seven field goals of the game in taking leads of 13-0 with 7:04 left in the first quarter and 18-6 with 5:11 left. From there, BGSU scored just 42 points over the next 35 minutes and made just 13 of 51 field goals.

Buffalo took its first lead with 7:37 remaining when Lani Cornfield’s transition layup gave the Bulls a 53-52 advantage.
