JONESBORO, Ark. — Despite losing the lead late, the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team hit its free throws and made just enough plays down the stretch in holding on for a 75-73 victory on the road at Arkansas State in a MAC-Sun Belt Challenge game Saturday.
The Falcons held a 67-57 lead with 4:40 remaining, but the Red Wolves orchestrated an 11-1 run to tie the game at 68 with 2:17 left. Arkansas State’s Crislyn Rose managed seven points during the flurry, finishing with a game-high 29 points.
Rose nailed a jumper 56 seconds later that put the Red Wolves ahead 70-68, giving them their first lead since 25-23 early in the second quarter.
