CINCINNATI — The Bowling Green women’s basketball team fell 65-49 to Xavier in a morning contest Thursday.
For the Falcons (3-4), it’s their third straight loss after beginning the season 3-1 with wins over Marshall, Robert Morris, and Loyola (Ill.).
With 4:12 remaining in the contest, BG trailed by only four, 51-47. But over the final 3:28 of the game, the Musketeers went on a 14-2 run, led by Aly Reiff. The freshman scored eight points during the crucial stretch on the way to finishing with a game-high 21 points on 5-of-8 from behind the arc.
As a whole, the Falcons let Xavier get plenty of looks from deep, giving up eight threes on 29 shot attempts.
