BOWLING GREEN — Implementing good communication with smooth execution and high energy, the Bowling Green State University volleyball team earned a berth in the NCAA tournament on Saturday.
The Falcons emerged with a four-set team victory over Western Michigan in the Mid-American Conference tournament championship game on their home court at the Stroh Center.
The Falcons won their first MAC tournament championship, and earned an NCAA bid for the first time since 2012.
Top-seeded Bowling Green, which improved to 22-1, won the match 3-1 (25-17, 16-25, 25-22, 25-20). Eastwood graduate Katelyn Meyer, a junior outside hitter for the Falcons, earned MVP tournament honors.
