BOWLING GREEN — The top-seeded Bowling Green State University volleyball team advanced to the Mid-American Conference tournament title match after the Falcons overcame a slow start to knock out Miami in a terrifically entertaining semifinal that went down to the wire on Friday.
Bowling Green (21-1) dropped the first set to No. 4 seed Miami before responding by winning the next two sets at the Stroh Center. The resilient RedHawks (13-9), however, answered to force a fifth set.
The Falcons persevered taking the fifth set 15-12 and advanced to Saturday's title game with a 3-2 win (15-25, 25-21, 27-25, 22-25, 15-12) over Miami.
