Nick Cardelli’s second-period goal was the game-winner Thursday as the Bemidji State Beavers upset the Bowling Green State University hockey team 3-2 in Western Collegiate Hockey Association play at Slater Family Ice Arena.
Aaron Miller added a goal and an assist, and Jason Baudry added a goal for Bemidji State (9-9-3, 7-5-1-0 WCHA), which raced out to a 2-0 first-period lead.
Lukas Craggs and Tim Theochardis scored for Bowling Green (13-4-3, 8-3-2-2), which is No. 12 in the latest USCHO.com Division I poll and No. 8 in the latest USA Today and Pairwise rankings.
Zach Driscoll finished with 22 saves to improve to 4-4-1 for the Beavers.
