Bowling Green State University hockey registered goals in the first and third periods on its way to a 2-0 win over Ferris State in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association opener for the Falcons at Slater Family Ice Arena on Friday.
Ferris State had already begun CCHA play.
Despite maintaining a narrow edge in shots on goal (31-30), the host Falcons made the most of their opportunities.
Late in the first period, BGSU got on the board thanks to a goal by Maxwell Martin. Assisting on the play were Seth Fyten and Gustav Stjernberg.
