BOWLING GREEN – Bowling Green State University was picked to win the Western Collegiate Hockey Association in a poll of the league’s coaches and a poll of WCHA media.
In the preseason coaches’ poll, Bowling Green received eight of 10 first-place votes and 89 points, while regular-season co-champion Michigan Tech was second with the two remaining first-place votes and 79 points, and co-champ Minnesota State was third with 71 points.
WCHA tournament champ Ferris State was fourth with 70 points, followed by Northern Michigan (54), Bemidji State (48), Lake Superior State (44), Alaska-Anchorage (29), Alabama-Huntsville (23) and Alaska 21.
