BGSU moves on in MAC women's soccer tournament

BOWLING GREEN — Nikki Cox scored a pair of first-half goals, her first two-goal game of her career, as the Bowling Green State University women’s soccer team withstood a lengthy weather delay and an Eastern Michigan comeback bid to post a 2-1 win Sunday in a quarterfinal game in the Mid-American Conference tournament at Cochrane Stadium.

With the win, the Falcons (13-4-2) advance to the semifinal round of the league tourney. BGSU, the top seed, will serve as host for the remainder of the tournament, and the Falcons will face fourth-seeded Ohio University at either 4 p.m. or 7 p.
