BGSU men's basketball shoots past Eastern Michigan to open MAC play

YPSILANTI, Mich. — Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team shot a blistering 52.9 percent from the floor to knock off Eastern Michigan 91-65 in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams Tuesday at George Gervin GameAbove Center.

BGSU (7-7, 1-0 MAC) eclipsed the 50 percent mark from the floor for the third straight game.

Leon Ayers III had 24 points to lead five Falcons in double figures.

Emoni Bates, who entered the game averaging 20 points per contest, had 15 points on just 2 of 14 shooting (11 of 14 free throws) for Eastern Michigan (3-11, 0-1 MAC).
