BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green men’s basketball closed out the calendar year with a Friday matinee victory over Siena Heights, defeating the Saints of the NAIA 79-58 at the Stroh Center.
The Falcons trailed 29-28 at halftime but poured on 51 points after the break to take control and ward off any chance of an embarrassing defeat. Trey Thomas knocked down five 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 19 points.
The first half and the opening minutes of the second half were closely contested, with neither team building a lead of more than 4. BGSU led 35-34 with 14:28 remaining but then embarked on a 14-0 run, and Siena Heights never recovered.
