DEKALB, Ill. — Bowling Green State University used a run in the final four minutes of the first half to put them up by double digits, then cruised to an 83-72 win at Northern Illinois on Saturday afternoon in Mid-American Conference men’s basketball action.
The Falcons improved to 12-4 overall and 3-1 in the MAC after the victory.
Following David Coit of Northern Illinois’ three-point play which brought the Huskies to within 31-29 at the 4:16 mark of the first half, BGSU responded with a 12-3 run.
Layups by the Falcons’ Marcus Hill, Rashaun Agee, and Da’Shawn Phillip, plus 1 of 2 free throws by Agee and Northern Illinois’ Quaran McPherson gave BGSU a 38-30 advantage with just north of two minutes remaining in the half.
