BOWLING GREEN — As Bowling Green seemingly couldn’t make a field goal early in the second half, its winning streak looked primed for an unceremonious end.
The Falcons shot a dismal 1-for-18 from the floor to start the second half, giving visiting Ball State ample opportunity to take the lead and never look back.
Instead, Bowling Green hung on: to its lead, to the game, and to the winning streak, defeating the Cardinals 79-78.
The Falcons (12-5, 4-0 Mid-American Conference) have won eight consecutive games and are now 9-0 at home this season.
BG did the trick Tuesday by surviving the cold stretch and then making free throws.
