BOWLING GREEN — Daeqwon Plowden set a career high with 23 points, the Bowling Green defense created a sizable first-half lead, and the Falcons swept a three-game homestand with a 72-58 victory Sunday against Cleveland State.
What happened: The Falcons' defense took control of the game during the early stages and created a frustrating first 20 minutes for Cleveland State.
BG forced 13 turnovers in the first half, altered numerous other possessions with deflections, and held the Vikings' starting five to just 12 total points in the opening period.
More than just forcing turnovers, however, Bowling Green consistently turned them into points on the other end.
