BGSU men earn key win over Ball State

BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University men’s basketball took the lead early in the second half and never relinquished it, defeating Ball State 61-52 on Saturday at the Stroh Center to move into a tie with the Cardinals for the eighth and final place in the Mid-American Conference tournament.

The Falcons (13-16, 7-9), who closed the game on a 16-9 run, will enter the final week of the regular season even with BSU (14-15, 7-9) and potentially Western Michigan for the seventh-, eighth-, and ninth-place slots in the conference. Central Michigan also lurks in 10th place with a 6-10 league record.
