TEMPE, Ariz. — Bowling Green State University men’s basketball lost the lead for good in the final minute and came up short on Marcus Johnson’s go-ahead 3-point attempt on one of its final possessions, falling 73-70 to Weber State in the Arizona Tip-Off tournament Friday.
It was the Falcons’ third loss in four games, dropping them to 2-5 on the young season.
Javontae Campbell split a pair of free throws for the Falcons with 48 seconds remaining, giving them a 70-69 advantage. But Weber State responded 20 seconds later on Miguel Tomley’s layup to put the Wildcats up by one.
