BOWLING GREEN — Ben Doran scored about midway through the second period and Quinn Emerson tallied a late empty-netter as Bowling Green State University hockey picked up a 2-0 win over Northern Michigan on Friday at Slater Family Ice Arena.
The Falcons (6-7-2, 3-4-2 Central Collegiate Hockey Association) won for the first time since Nov. 2, snapping a six-game winless run that included two ties.
Doran got an assist from Emerson as he gave BGSU the lead with 9:20 left in the middle period. The Falcons got a shutout performance from goaltender Christian Stoever, who saved all 24 Northern Michigan shots.
