BOWLING GREEN — The transfer portal has both given and taken away from the Bowling Green State University hockey program.
The Falcons lost nine upperclassmen to the new rule approved last month by the NCAA that allows college athletes to transfer one time as an undergraduate without having to sit out a season.
However, Bowling Green also has three players so far that will be joining the Falcons program via the transfer portal.
Third-year coach Ty Eigner said it was difficult to see his players leave. But he said all nine players have graduated from the university, and he wished them well.
