BOWLING GREEN — There is a natural reset that comes with every new season in college sports, but Bowling Green hockey has an unapologetically long memory.
There are no cliches about forgetting the past from Falcons, whose heartbreak to end last season shaped their offseason.
The Falcons coughed up a 2-0 lead late in the third period of the WCHA tournament championship game at Minnesota State, as the Mavericks scored twice with the goaltender pulled to tie the game, then won in overtime.
In the NCAA tournament, BG led defending champion Minnesota-Duluth 1-0 after 56-plus minutes of play, but again couldn’t close the deal and lost in overtime.
