ST. PAUL — Bowling Green State University hockey had its season cut short in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association tournament semifinals Saturday, falling 3-1 on the road at streaking St. Thomas.
BGSU, which ends the season at 18-14-4, took a 1-1 tie into the third period before the Tommies registered a pair of third-period goals to seal the victory and advance to the Mason Cup championship next weekend.
St. Thomas (19-13-5) came into Saturday’s game riding a seven-game win streak — their last loss being a 4-1 defeat at BGSU on Feb. 7 — and pushed it to eight in a row following the win over the Falcons.
