BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University hockey took a brief lead in the third period Saturday night, but still ended up on the wrong end of a 3-1 final against Michigan Tech at the Slater Family Ice Arena.
The Falcons lost both games of the weekend series to the Huskies, suffering a two-game sweep for the first time since Jan. 5-6 against Ohio State. BG (13-18-1, 11-10-1-2 Central Collegiate Hockey Association) had entered the Michigan Tech games without a loss since Jan. 20.
On a night when BGSU honored its 1983-84 national championship-winning team and celebrated Senior Night, the action on the ice was goalless for more than two periods.
