MARQUETTE, Mich. — Bowling Green State University hockey scored the game’s first three goals and never looked back on its way to a 5-2 win Saturday at Northern Michigan.
The Falcons (14-9-4, 10-6-4 Central Collegiate Hockey Association) completed a two-game weekend sweep and a four-game season sweep of the Wildcats (4-23-1, 3-16-1).
Jaden Grant’s power-play goal and Matvei Kabanov’s even-strength tally gave BGSU a 2-0 lead by the end of the first period. Ryan O’Hara made it 3-0 in the second before Rasmus Larsson got the hosts on the board.
Eric Parker put the Falcons up 4-1 with less than five minutes to go in the second, Tanner Latsch made a two-goal game again in the third, and Ethan Scardina found the empty net late to produce the final 5-2 margin.
