SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — Bowling Green State University hockey rallied to force overtime but came up short in the extra period, losing 4-3 on Saturday at Lake Superior State.
The Falcons (3-8-1, 1-2-1 Central Collegiate Hockey Association) split their weekend series with the Lakers after winning 5-3 on Friday. BGSU led 2-1 after the first period Saturday before falling behind in the second.
Owen Ozar scored with 12:20 left in the first period to give Bowling Green a 1-0 lead. Lake Superior responded with 5:42 on the clock as Reagan Milburn tied the game, but Spencer Kersten made it 2-1 BGSU just over two minutes later.
