The Bowling Green State University ice hockey team raced out to a 2-0 lead Friday and turned back the Bemidji State Beavers 3-1 in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association contest at the Slater Family Ice Arena.
Three different players scored for the Falcons (14-4-3, 9-3-2-2 WCHA), who are ranked No. 12 in the latest USCHO.com Division I poll, and No. 8 in USA Today and Pairwise rankings. Brandon Kruse, Taylor Schneider, and Connor Ford all tallied goals for Bowling Green, which earned a split of the two-game series.
Justin Baudry scored in the second period to lead Bemidji State (9-10-3, 7-6-1-0 WCHA)
Ryan Bednard finished with 24 saves to improve to 12-3-2 for the Falcons.
